We still encounter companies who rush to get this or that software tool without sufficient preparation. It applies to economic systems, customized information systems or CRM solutions. As we want to take responsibility for implementation results, we prepared a few categories of issues to be addressed by potential users of CRM system.
It really is not easy to introduce CRM in a company if you don't know obstacles you can encounter. Most of those interested in the technology overly concentrate on software and completely disregard other key elements. Yet the right choice of software represents only 5% of total success (based on Gartner company research).
The heading might sound rather crazy because who else other than your IT manager (or a network administrator if you call him that) should you consult when choosing an IT solution? When you want a contract, you call your lawyer. When you want to save money on taxes, you call your tax advisor. But when you want an information system, don't call your "computer man".
This is what sales representatives in companies usually plead when the management tries to introduce a new sales information system or CRM solution. They don't realize that sales representatives are not only supposed to sell.

I came across an article about 6 months old in eBiz magazine, which features discussions with a few experts on the topic of most frequent errors in system integration.

The new system was to reduce paperwork, speed up the decision making process, limit constant search for information, but somehow it does not work. People want to do everything the old way; they claim that the new system is no benefit to them."
CRM is an approach to identify, acquire and keep a customer. It enables organizations to manage and coordinate interaction with a customer. CRM helps companies to increase value of each such interaction and thus to achieve better economic results.
